Cameras
This section will be about cameras. This will also be a recommendation list for entry level cameras for new people who are interested in media.
Nikon D3500

The Nikon D3500 is a great entry level camera. It is £549 and it shoots 1080p.
Reasons to buy:
It's easy to use. The settings are easy to set up
It has excellent image quality. 1920x1080 picture quality
Tripods
Tripods are used in making various media projects. A tripod is a stand for your camera, which you can use to improve camera recording stability. Using a tripod also makes your footage look more professional and smooth.

How to use a tripod?
If you want to use a tripod for your media project you have to extend the three legs to your desired height. How do you do that? On each leg you have some clips that you have to open when you do that pull the leg towards you to extend the leg.

This is called Tripod shoe. It is located at the top of your tripod. It is used to screw your camera and lock it in the tripod so the camera wont fall during a recording. How to use a tripod shoe? It is fairly easy to use all you have to do is open the hatch at the top of your tripod and take out the tripod shoe, then you screw in your camera. (there is a small hole at the bottom of your camera for the tripod shoe). After you put the camera on the hatch and close it
Advantages to the tripod shoe
The tripod shoe is a very small thing but has some advantages to it. 1. it holds your camera tightly inside of the tripod. 2. It is easy to install on your camera. 3. It is very portable because of its size. 4. The material used to make the tripod shoe has a rubber grip which will improve camera stability.
Disadvantages to the tripod shoe
1. it is small and very easy to lose. I advice getting spares because you never know if you would lose one.
Lighting

Lighting is an important factor in filming especially if you are doing cgi effects.
The key light is the main light for recording and it is the most intense light. The backlight is the light that will cancel out the actors shadow when recording a media project. The fill light cancels out the key lights shadow and it doesn't make its own shadow
